DEAFLYMPICS

The DEAFLYMPICS™ is the premier international winter competition for the hearing impaired. Held every four years, the competition is scheduled to take place in Salt Lake, UT in 2007.

Founded in 1924, the DEAFLYMPICS were formerly known as the International Silent Games, the World Silent Games and the World Winter Games for the Deaf. However, the 2003 event has been renamed DEAFLYMPICS

Who is Stan Mikita?
Stan (Stanislaus Guoth) "Stosh" Mikita was born on May 20, 1940 in Sokolce, Czechoslovakia. Stan moved to Canada in 1948, and began his career with the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey Team in 1959. He retired from the Blackhawks in 1980 and was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
How old do I have to be to attend the hockey camp?
There are no age or gender requirements for potential participants. All players are assigned to team based on their age and skill level.
What is the difference between AHIHA and The Stan Mikita Hockey School?
AHIHA is the governing organization that organizes the hockey school each year. AHIHA performs other services throughout the year for it's athlete participants, such as providing speech therapy assistance, hearing aids to those in need and scholarships to the hockey school.
