During the week of hockey school, AHIHA provides bus transportation between the hotel and ice arena for all events associated with the organization. Hockey players are expected to ride the bus, and parents are encouraged to do so also. It's a great way to meet everyone, and save on gas.

Players attending the hockey school have the opportunity to work with a number of USA Hockey qualified coaches in on-ice skills, systems of play and fundamentals of skating, along with off-ice conditioning. The players are placed on a team based on age, ability and experience. All the teams play games against outside competition during the week of the hockey school. There is also a program for beginning players. They concentrate on skating skills and beginning hockey skills.

AHIHA was proud to announce the development of a women's team in 2010 - the first time in AHIHA's history. The team had the opportunity to play against other women's team during the week. It was proven to be successful and the AHIHA staff is looking forward to continuing with the women's team.

Players that attend the hockey school, often state that "this is the best week of my life". Each player (under 21) must have a parent or guardian accompany them during the week. Families have the opportunity to share experiences and learn from each other concerning the chalenges they encounter raising hard of hearing children. AHIHA offers information on medical advancements, and has access to hearing aids at little or no cost to the families.

Players from all across the United States, attend the hockey school. This allows families to gain new freinds, collect contact information and exchange experiences from different areas of the country. This experience alone, opens a new world of friends for families. Check into our organization - you will be impressed, encouraged, motivated, and educated in the great sport of Hockey.
