A Note From Stan Mikita…
Although no one in my immediate family suffers from a significant loss of hearing, that doesn’t mean that I don’t know what it’s like to have a communication problem out on the ice. Born in the Republic of Slovakia, I had a very hard time communicating with my hockey teammates and opponents when I first starting playing the game on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. I fully understand the disadvantage of not being able to hear or understand what coaches, parents or other individuals are saying — to you or to others.
What’s great about our hockey camp is that for one week, no one is different — everyone is exactly the same. During the week, our players meet new friends, share common experiences and begin to form personal relationships and bonds that will last them a lifetime. For many kids who attend our camp, the week-long experience literally changes their entire outlook on life — they return to their hometowns with a new sense of teamwork, commitment and responsibility.
Hockey is a great sport that can be played by anyone — including those with hearing impairments. Please contact us today to learn what a difference our program can make in your child’s life.
Sincerely,

Stan Mikita
